Break the Stigma: The Society in the Webcam Industry
The webcam industry unfortunately, still remains frowned upon by some sectors, who assume the adult entertainment industry as taboo. In the 21st century, when great advances in personal and technological development set the tone, some people still have to “stick” to the standards and norms imposed by society. Those who go in the opposite direction face prejudice and discrimination, which can mean a social stigma.
Often the word “prostitution” is used lightly and definitely in a broad sense for all those who relate a woman or man to the adult industry, including the online activities like the webcam. In Colombia, webcam modeling is a well-known branch of the industry. This development in the country has begun to influence the way people perceive this work.
Despite the progress that society has made, many people are still not open to accepting this profession as a viable career. However, contrary to many people beliefs there are a large number of models, from different genres, who have built great careers in webcam modeling, growing ecnonomically by doing what they enjoy. Everything is centered around the idea of not being ashamed about what you do.

When talking about successful models of the webcam, one must imagine brave business people who took a different opportunity to others, although this great opportunity can be ruined by a social stigma. Each model must decide how to overcome this social problem and turn it into the motor that drives their steps, develop inner confidence and a strong sense of empowerment will be the best approach that a model can take.
Being an performer on the webcam should be conisdered like any other profession, which requires preparation, approach, organization and planning. Understanding the fact that some followers will be those who, outside the chat, prove to be strong critics of the same industry that they attend in their free time.
The webcam models are people who are characterized by their courage, ambition and romanticism, but also by a great sense of empathy and the desire to communicate with other people from other parts of the world.
Just because this work does not fit the social standard does not mean that it cannot be practiced with desire, emotion and commitment. Society must understand that every woman and man deserves the autonomy of choosing the profession that satisfies them.
